  4. Dagmar says:

Cancer is a nasty thing and very hard to get rid of.
Have you heard about dr Budwig research? It is very interesting and has very good results with treating cancer natural way for good.
I am not going to bore you with details, but the genaral idea is that the proper fats in the diet dissolve cancer cells. Now, you can follow the diet and still do chemo, it doesn’t have to be either this or that. I think it is really worth a try. I encourage you to go to http://www.budwigcenter.com for more info. The info is free, the diet guidelines are free, sample recepies are free to.
Good luck to you and your family. Wish you the best.

    • admin says:

Thanks for the suggestion, Dagmar. We are definitely looking into all different kinds of treatments and looking to God for wisdom in choosing the right path. Thank you again, so much, for reaching out! Hope you are doing well!

Your story is one of hope and inspiration. I pray that Heavenly Father blesses you with a full recovery so you can enjoy the joys of fatherhood for years to come! Have you heard of Dr. Burzynski? He has been treating cancer patients since the ’70s with unparalleled results. After learning about how he treats cancer I always said to myself that I’d see him in a heartbeat! Here is his website if you want to know more about his methodology.

  18. May says:

    Hi Nick,
We are your clients. My husband had his car in for service this morning and in your little chat, he learned about your fighting for a rare cancer. You are the best service consultant I have had, but for some reason I couldn’t memorize your last name, so I always call you “Maganolia Hi Fi,” so every time when I came home from service, I would tell my husband, Maganolia Hi Fi was there. This morning, I called Lexus to learn that it should be Magnotti. So I googled your name and ta-da, I read your story.

Here is some reference about diet. A friend of mine had end stage of lung cancer in his early 30s. The doctor said he had only 6 months to live. Now he is 70 and is a retired doctor and is promoting his diet for people who are fighting for cancer. He said back then what he did was change his diet completely:
    1. he said when he just got up in the morning, he had about 500cc of water first, but he didn’t drink it, instead he “chewed” it before swallowing it, yeah, he chews water just like he chews food. He said it is to mix water with saliva more, so it’s easy for poo-poo to come out.
    2. he stopped eating meat, especially no red meat, and eat raw vegetables (sorry, no salad dressing allowed).
    3. you need lots of mineral and this will help: extract juice from vegetables like carrots, celery, rainbow chard stems, beets, cucumber and fruits like apples, pears… because liquid is so much easier to digest and being absorbed better. (I have been trying this for a while because I have disc herniation and some other complications, and often making me so exhausted. The juice boosts my energy level. I normally have 300-500cc. with the dregs, I boil it for about 15 minutes, then filter out the dregs and drink the ‘juice’ as I drink water). Eat organic food.
    4. Cook all kind of grains together, like red rice, brown rice, black rice, pearl barley, black beans, oat, millet, and wheat.

Nick, you looked so normal and provided wonderful service as usual during the time you were in your first chemo. I think you have a very strong faith in God and a wonderful spirit in helping others. I don’t know what God would do next and what the journey lies before you, but I do know a titanium strong faith in God and always enjoy the light of joy and the joy of light from God will lead you out of the woods eventually. We are in different religious, but I will pray for you and tell my God to talk to your God to make you just like you said about yourself: I’m the perfect person to fight this fight because I can.

Alyssa and you are so lucky to have each other for the rest of your life. Looking forward to seeing your little girl on 3/31.

    Best regards,

    • admin says:

  22. Tom Montanaro says:

Twice I have been in your place, the first 13 years ago when Doctors told me “I wouldn’t make it through the night” Because of this verse which was boldly prayed over me, I live!

    (Nicks name added)

    Psalm 91 paraphrased

1 Nick who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
2 Nick will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you Nick
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you Nick with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you Nick.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you Nick,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you Nick
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
    13 Nick, you will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
    14 “Because Nick loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;
I will protect Nick, for he acknowledges my name.
    15 Nick will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with Nick in trouble,
I will deliver Nick and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy Nick
    and show him my salvation.”

    Praying with you for miracles!

    • admin says:

      Hi Tom,

Thanks so much for your note! What an amazing prayer! God really can work miracles and we are praying that His will is a miracle for our little family. Thank you for your support and your prayers! Much love to you and yours.

  23. Ken Olsen says:

Alyssa & Nick, Although it’s been a few weeks since you shared your story at life point Lake Stevens, I Wanted you to know that your story deeply moved me. To say the least it is difficult at times to discern Gods will And plan for our lives. The encouraging part of that is that the all wise God does indeed have a plan for us. What a delight to consider that God’s desire for us is to know Him and make Him known. In my own life I have been amazed by God’s faithfulness and yet troubled by my own reluctance to accept the light that God has shown on my path. I have worried way too much about the outcome of the events great and small in my life. If you are at all familiar with the story of Corrie Ten Boom; a survivor of the Nazi death camps,(This quote may not be exact) she said “Worry doesn’t protect or free you from the fears and concerns of tomorrow it robs you of your joy and strength for today”. I am praying for the three of you that you truly will know God’s peace that surpasses all understanding and His joy as you move forward. In his faithful love, Ken

    • admin says:

Hi Ken – Thank you so much for letting us know! We are so happy that our story touched you in some way. And, thank you for sharing Corrie’s quote. She was an amazing lady and there is definite wisdom in her words. Worry truly doesnt solve anything and it really does rob the day of joy. A wonderful reminder! :] Love and blessings to you!

  24. Rose Wilson says:

God bless Team Magnotti….I came by your story via a FB friend of mine who lives near you; we lived in the Lynnwood/Bothell area for 30+ years but moved to Phoenix 3 years ago. You show such remarkable strength and eloquence in your posts that I felt a very strong urge to send you many, many prayers and to share a story of our own miracle from God so you have additional proof of God’s loving hand.

Our family went through several tough years when our Grandson, Julian, was born 9 years ago with a severely defective heart and has endured 4 heart bypass surgeries. The surgery that ultimately saved his life didn’t exist before he was born; the doctors’ had to “design” the surgery…..today Julian is a normal, happy, and active third grader! The point of this story is to reaffirm that God does give us miracles, and I believe in his mercy and grace and honestly believe Team Magnotti will soon be the recipient of their very own miracle.

The strange coincidence is that you are flying to Omaha for the surgery, and that is where my husband and I are from…two of our sons were born at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, and our other son was born at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where I was born and raised. We lived in Omaha before our move to Seattle.

Again, I can’t explain my urgency to write to a stranger and tell you that there are many, many people praying and sending positive thoughts your way….people you may never meet personally.I just wanted you to know and to believe in the power of prayer. God bless all of you.

    • admin says:

That’s amazing, Rose! Thank you for sharing your story! This brought me so much hope when I read it! Sorry that it took me so long to respond but know that your story was a blessing to us then and now. :] Much love and blessings to you!

  25. Carrie Cheetham says:

Hi, I am a friend of joleen denman. She shared your story on Facebook and I spent the next hour reading all your post on your website. I will be praying for you! And I will pass your site on to my many wonderful friends to be praying for you as well!!! I am praying for God’s strength and courage for both of you. You are not fighting this battle on your own, Jesus and His army of angels have gone before to fight this battle! Any words that I write seem to fall short of all that my heart feels for you both, so I will share a favorite verse of mine that I will be praying over you both….. 2nd Corinthians 4:18 “so we fix our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal!” Thank you for sharing your story so that God may be glorified!

    • admin says:

Thank you so much, Carrie! We really really appreciate your prayers and your help spreading the word! We’re keeping our eyes and our chins up! Thank you and God bless you!

  26. Dave says:

God bless you and your family. We are praying for you. I can’t come close to knowing what you are going through. Your attitude and strength are remarkable. You two are so strong and can’t wait for the news you beat it again :)

  27. Andy says:

    Hello Nick,

I ran across your site while doing my monthly search on appendix cancer\HIPEC news. I was diagnosed back in 2011 and I’ve gone through everything you are experiencing. When I had my HIPEC in 2011, I was actually featured in the NY Times (http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2011/08/07/business/hipec-cancer-therapy.html?_r=0) and while the article is a bit negative on the procedure, my family and faith got me through it. Since then I’ve had another surgery in Dec. 2012 to remove a small tumor that was missed in the original surgery. So far my tests have been all clear and it’s looking good. I want you to know that I will be praying for you daily and that you can pull through this bump in the road that is life with a positive mindset and faith. Believe Nick…. believe you have more to give. We both know it’s not easy, but have faith and envision 5yrs, 10yrs down the road. BELIEVE!

May God’s grace and love embrace you and your family!

    • admin says:

Thanks, Andy! We really appreciate it! We are definitely depending on FAITH and are happy to hear that you were able to remove the tumors. May God shine his light on you and continue to give you grace! Stay strong Andy!

  28. Will & Karina Dickerson says:

    Nick & Alyssa,

We saw your video after seeing your cousin Mike re-post it on Facebook. We used to be neighbors with Mike & Jen and our young kids went to each others’ birthday parties.

I (Will) watched this video and was instantly moved to tears, having lost my mom as a child to a heart attack and recently my dad to cancer.

Nick we are praying for your supernatural healing. Cry out to Jesus for strength and perseverance each day. He knows your situation and he loves you deeply.

    Will & Karina

  29. Katie says:

Though I have not met you, and it has been years since I’ve seen Nick, I wanted to give you my condolences. Your husband, as you know, was an amazing man who I was blessed to have known for a short period of time. He was always happy and never without a smile on his face or love in his heart to spread. You and your daughter are beautiful and I’m so happy for him to have had the life he shared with you. I’ve been following everything on facebook and he was just so inspirational. I truly admire him and you for your strength and courage throughout the last few years.
If you ever need someone to talk to, even a stranger, I lost my boyfriend in 2009. His was unexpected and sudden. I know your situation is different but as you know, it is just as difficult, even seeing it coming. If there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask me. I’m more than willing to help you out, lend an ear, or some advice or at least some ways I coped.
Again, I’m so sorry for your loss but I know you are strong and have great faith to lean on. Stay strong and keep that smile on your face. He is watching over you both and his love will shine through every day of your life.

  30. Thinking of you all with love and prayers at this time. You do not know Me and we have never met, but yet you have touched me through Denise & Tim Wesley. We have been following you and your family. Blessings for strength and prayers for knowing you will both have a guiding light and guardian angel above forever.

  31. Lynnette says:

    Alyssa and family,

Having endured losing a very close friend 2 years ago to this awful cancer at the age of 51 I can only imagine the pain you are encountering. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time. I understand that it is with great pleasure not to see him suffering anymore but also with enourmous amounts of sadness and grief to not have your best friend, husband, father to your daughter by your side. Your faith in God is an inspiration and I am saying prayers to him to send you strength as you heal. God bless you Alyssa! Stay strong and know that hundreds if not thousands are praying for you and your family. We also started a foundation to bring awarness to this cancer – http://www.bobmcfoundation.org. We will continue this not only in my friends honor but in memory of Nick as well.

  32. Pat Murray says:

Magnotti Family – I’m so very sorry for your loss.

I do not know your family or Nick, but by chance, I was in Seattle today at SCCA with my daughter, Mary, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 appendix (they won’t call it appendix but that’s what it is) cancer this past September, and was reading the newspaper we had picked up at the hotel. I found Nick’s obituary by chance. Other than my daughter, I do not know any others with this cancer.

Finding the obituary was like a message. I would like to hear more from your family and others about their experience with appendix cancer.

Because it’s so rare we feel isolated and have no one else to talk to regarding their experiences. We appreciate the doctors who are caring for Mary and feel they are wonderful doctors but it would be good for us to be in contact with others facing this disease.

May you always remember Nick as whole and healthy. You will be with him again some day and it will be a joyous reunion.

  33. Carol says:

I’m another person you don’t know…I’m Nichole Vogel’s aunt. You have a beautiful outlook on life and God. Not only that, but your family is beautiful. I think it is wonderful that you have this blog. You & Nick will have touched more lives than you will ever know by sharing his/your story on the web. I too have lost family members to cancer but fortuneately my mom and dad went to be with God too. I don’t know how people without God in their lives make it through such terrible events in life. Thank you for being HIS witness to the world. God Bless you and your daughter.

  34. Johnson bandi says:

    Thanks guys ,

You brought me to tears and helped me look at my own life with gratitude !

The way you say “I’m blessed” still rings in my mind

Thanks for bringing me closer to God

You can’t imagine how much you have helped me with your story !

I’m gonna remember you in my prayers,

    God Bless .

  35. Marie says:

you don’t know me. I am a 19-year old girl from Germany. I cannot imagine how hard this is for you, but I know this: God is good, and He will provide. There may be days when you feel like you can’t go on, but God is right there. Just go one day at a time. Your family’s story has brought me to tears. I cannot do much, but I will pray for you tonight.

Nick was an amazing person. I don’t like it when dead sinners somehow are always made saints when people talk about them. But I am certain that Nick knew the Lord and that He had a genuine love for his family. Choose to be thankful for the time you had with him, and rejoice! He is with Jesus now. And you will be someday as well.

May God bless you and comfort you, may He be your strength and your joy. He will provide. There are two more things I want to share with you. One is a youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVy52B6rrWI

The other one is a small poem that I wrote:

Rejoice O you who mourn and cry
For life is but a breath
    For everyone will someday die
    There’s no escape of death

However, dear, there still is hope
For those who know His name
When you feel way too weak to cope
Remember the lamb who was slain

He died to set us sinners free
And death has lost its sting
    For we shall live eternally
    To praise our heavenly King.

So, you who long for the presence of Nick
    Rejoice and trust you’ll be
With him who once was very sick
Who now of cancer is free.

Rejoice, I say, for Nick is where
The saints of past have gone
Who now can freely look and stare
To Him who said “It’s done!”

Yes, He can see His Saviour’s face
And feel the warmth of His embrace
And God will surely care for you
Until the same you’ll also do.

  36. Alex says:

I stumbled across your story for the first time tonight and feel truly lucky to have done so. I found Nick’s story and message truly inspirational and often found myself wiping away tears while reading this website. I hope that you can find strength in these hard times and I’m sure your memories of Nick will aid you in that. Nick’s love of you and Austyn will help you through this and many future hardships. I vow to do my best to honor Nick’s memory by approaching each situation with unwavering optimism and faith. Thank you so much for opening up your life to me and the world, we can all learn a lot from the way Nick lived his life here on Earth.

  37. Brianna says:

Hello! My name is Brianna and I found your beautiful story on faithlit.com. Thank you so much for sharing your story. It certainly calmed my worried heart. My husband was diagnosed with brain cancer just nine months after we were married. It shocked us to our core, but brought us closer to God. We are blessed with every day we have together. He has been battling this cancer for a year next month.

I love to see that you were able to have a family together, that is something my husband and I talk about often. I am overjoyed to see that if that is the path we take we will not be alone. You are in my prayers. I hope you can feel love, peace, and happiness everyday.

  38. Natalie says:

I just watched the story. What a beautiful legacy that your husband leaves behind for you and your daughter! Although, I do not know what it feels to lose a husband or best friend, I just pray that the Lord will give you peace. This past December I lost my second Daddy, my grandfather, he was absolutely an amazing man. There is one passage that has given me peace to know and it seems rather that it was the focus of Nick in his last days…it is John 14:1-4. Just like Nick, I cannot wait to see the place that the Lord has been preparing for us. I pray that you and Austyn no matter what will keep Christ in the center of your lives. Thank you for sharing your husband and best friend’s story with us!

  39. Lindsay Smith says:

I was just blessed to happen upon Nick’s video and wanted to thank you for sharing him and his faith with a world that needs to witness the peace of God active in hearts. My son passed away seven years ago and now resides with Jesus. You will have good days and bad, but thanks be to the Lord that one day, there will be a reunion where ‘goodbye’ will never again be a part of our vocabularies. I will pray for each of you that Nick so clearly loved, and in order to honor him and inspire others, I will share his wonderful message. Much love and prayers being sent up for your family.

  40. joan hoffman says:

Alyssa, I became aware of Team Magnotti just this week when I saw a posting from Uncle Mike. We were high school friends and recently re connected on FB. Your story, your journey, has touched my soul to say the least. It takes strength and faith to rise above circumstances that seem destined to drag us down. You obviously have both…in abundance…and a loving and caring support group of dedicated family and friends. You are an admirable young woman.

  41. Heather Brunet says:

    Hi Alyssa,

We don’t know each other but I just saw Nick’s video to your daughter. I was moved to tears. I will be keeping you and your daughter in my prayers. I feel so blessed to have seen the video and I trust it will touch others who may not have a personal relationship with Christ. Nick’s legacy will live on.

God bless you both as you learn to move on without Nick, and be comforted in the arms of a loving Saviour.

    Dear Team M,

This video I just watched has truly touched me. As I lie in bed (in a mexican hotel I am on vacation) all I can think of is the Nick, that beautiful baby and YOU Lord. The power of god blessed Nick and he did not fear for the lord had his back. I use to be very spiritual (grew up in catholic schooling) but for the longest time now my relationship with god has suffered (due to a variety of factors mainly lack of faith) but this video has me thinking and thinking now (going on 3 hours)! The lords infinite love has led nick to and from this earth and because of NICK I now whole heartedly believe this.. Talk to god. Have faith in the lord for he is here for us all. And the lord “will protect that child!” So beautiful. My deepest condolences. God bless and let the memory of Nick live on in that beautiful smile of his beautiful baby girl.

  49. Federico says:

God bless you all. A wonderful man who shows us the beauty of love. Austin will know that she was loved immensely by her father and that is a great gift.

Praying for you and your family. I know God has big plans for you and your baby girl. You are a strong and brave person. Praying that God continues to give you strength through the days, weeks, and months ahead.

The video that you all shared is very powerful. Nick’s love for you and your daughter shines. The love of God also shines in that video. Praying that others are moved in the same way I was.

“God I pray that you would bless this home. Give them strength to go forth day to day and let your light shine in them. God, I pray that you give them peace. Peace in knowing they will see you and Nick again in that beautiful home above. Thank you God for all you blessings on this family and those that have been touched by this family’s story. I pray that others turn to you as this family has. Amen.”

  56. Kaelyn R says:

I randomly came across the video of Nick on facebook. My heart is heavy but my spirits are lifted up knowing what an amazing person (and angel) he is. I am a new mom as well and just want to send hugs to the Magnotti’s. Thinking of baby Austyn and praying for her and her mama. They are shining examples of how people should live their lives. Nick’s memory will touch millions. Thank you for sharing your story and know that I’m just one stranger totally moved and touched by this story… and will continue to lift you all up in prayer.

  57. Dana St John says:

Wow. I do not have the words, my heart has no words. Thank you for sharing this with us, this is so incredibly beautiful, as a mom and a wife, I feel so many things watching this…but as a child of God, an imperfect and striving to be better child of God…Nick’s sharing of his insight is…I fight for the right word…beautiful and of God. His heart, his love, his joy, his praise. What he, and you with him, has shared, is of God. God used you all as His instruments, I know this must all hurt so verily much…I can’t imagine the pain mixed in with the joy and love…so all I can say, is Thank You. Thank all of you. And I will hold you in my hearts and prayers and will share and hope to make your message seen and shared and loved and help it touch anyone who will watch and listen.
Blessings to you, to baby Austin, the Lord is with you, you are a woman of the Lord. You are a woman that I as a wife, will see as a picture of strength and love and the Lord.

  60. Amber says:

I want to write this long beautiful post about how touched I was by your testimony and story, but I can’t. You are a strong woman and I will stand with you in prayer as well. Keep your head up best you can.

  62. Tarren says:

What a touching tribute of a father’s love for his daughter. Your husband clearly is a wonderful disciple of Christ, and he’s inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing your story with all of us. It made me remember how grateful I am for each day I have with my little one (born April 2013), and that each day I have with her is a gift from my Father in Heaven. I don’t deserve her, but I am so grateful I am her mommy. Families are forever, I know that. You all will be together again one day. We all will. I hope the Lord continues to bless you, and leads you down paths that will lead you to be together again. And I bet Nick is with you both everyday. I know if it were me, even in spirit, I’d still be with those I loved, and no where else.

  63. Yve says:

    Dear Alyssa, family and friends,

I am so sorry for your loss. While browsing tonight on the internet I came across the video of your husband and it truly touched me. What an inspiring story! I’ve lost loved ones to cancer and have been amazed by their strength and optimism, its amazing how clearly life becomes to them. People who can be strong because of the positive vibes from their families and friends, but also have their faith to hold on to.

It gives me strength and faith to live my life each day to the fullest and to not rush it. Appreciate every moment! Thats what I am taking away from this video of your husband.

Who knew when I opened my laptop an half an hour ago that i would find this inspiration. Thank you for sharing this story and to bring some positivity into the world.

My prayers are with you and your family! All the way from The Netherlands.

  69. Dear Ayssa,

I am heartbroken to hear about your loss. I watched Nick’s video and through my tears I thanked God that he faced cancer head-on with full faith. The Lord will use his life to impact many, many people and I know he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ today. Please know that I am praying for you and your precious daughter. I pray that if I ever face cancer that I will have half of the faith that Nick had. Your husband was an amazing man!

I have very few words because I am so overcome by your story. I sincerely appreciate you and Nick’s selflessness and strength. God bless and good luck.

  71. Danielle says:

This was heartbreaking and inspiring all at the same time. I’m SO glad I’m going to be able to meet both of you some day in Heaven. I’m in Puyallup, and used to be a nanny in Bellevue. When I saw your video, I had no idea you were local. I’m excited that you get to see the Hawks play in the Super Bowl. God is and will continue to bless you since you’re keeping your eyes on Him. HUGS to you!

  72. Josh says:

I only hope that one day I can grow up to be as honorable a man as Nick. The faith that he and his family so clearly evince is inspiring and humbling all in the same breath. I cannot thank you enough for being so brave to share your story and your heart. Thank you for reminding me that no matter how faint life’s light might become, God has, is, and always will be, good.

  73. Tabatha says:

I have never met you…but I must say that-I am simply in awe. In awe of both Nick’s and your strength and inspiring love for God. After seeing Nick’s video, it is clearly evident that anyone who did know him was blessed! One can only hope to embody such unwavering faith…praying today for you, your daughter Austyn and all those touched by Nick’s passing. 74. Rick says:

I just saw the video of Nick on GodVine. I was so impressed by his state of mind and faith. A prayer from Minnesota for you and Austyn to be surrounded by love and blessings all of your life.

  75. Kristina says:

My heart aches for the difficult days ahead for you and your beautiful daughter. For while your amazing husband is now at peace and walking with the Lord, I know that you will feel the depth of the void he has left behind.
My prayer is that you are lifted up daily to find strength to keep his memories alive. My prayer is that you are able to hold fast those memories and raise your daughter for she is born of the greatest love. My prayer is that you are comforted and assured by the selfless love your husband showed for his family. My prayer is that you can find joy in your daughters face and devote your life to her happiness. My prayer is that you can forgive yourself for living when you live with the knowledge that your husband can not. Life is for the living and until we are called home, we must rest out lives in the trust that it is according to God’s plan. You are a beautiful woman with a remarkable daughter and God has a plan for you. I pray that you are open to the love and life that God has planned. There is much you and your daughter have left to accomplish on this earth but your husband has certainly forged a path. While it is difficult to imagine a life without a spouse, we are never alone. God knows. God is with us. He will not forsake us.

I am filled with deep regret for your tremendous loss and I send heartfelt sympathy. My heart is heavy for your beautiful daughter who will not know her father’s love when she grows older but will live knowing of his unending love and sacrifice when she was just a baby. It is beautiful and tragic. Your husband was an exceptional man and you must be equally as exceptional for having been his life partner. May God poor his blessings out upon you both who are left to endure this heart ache. May you be comforted by his love and offered his peace.

  76. Mandy says:

    Nick, Alyssa and Austin,

First off I want to start by saying this story is truly incredible!! Alyssa not only was Nick a strong young man, but he was truly blessed to have such a strong and encouraging wife. God truly knew what he was doing ringing you two together. Losing someone is never easy. I recently lost a loved one to Gastric Cancer. I have to admit sometimes it is truly hard to “trust God” in times like this. Although I have never questioned him. I know he has a plan for everything. I often find myself questioning “Why”? Why she had to go so early? But I know he has a great plan for all of this. The pain is still there. But we also have all of the beautiful memories with them. My prayer for you is that God gives you peace at this time and comforts you durring this trying time. I pray that God uses you, Alyssa, to be the bestexample of a Woman of God. Nick may be in Heaven, But his legacy will live on through you, Austin and the reast or your family and the lives that he has touched!!!
    Prayng for your family Alyssa!
    May God blessed you!!!

    • Mandy says:

Understand that god has a purpose and a destiny for each and everyone of us. I believe Nick would be so happy to hear how many lives he has already touched!!!
I know it has touched me!
His story has ministered not only to me but also so many more!!!!
His legacy will live on through all of you!!

Lord, I come to you know forTeam Magnotti . I come to you to ask that you provide them strength and comfort in this time of deep need. Their hurt and grief run so deep. I feel so much pain for them, but I can only imagine how hard this time must be for them. I pray that you help them maintain their faith in you during this difficult time.

I know you can be our greatest shoulder, but I also ask that you remain their biggest provider. It is a time when daily life can be so burdensome. Please provide patience from others as they work through their grief. Surround them with understanding so that they can work through all the emotions this loss brought up.

I pray these things in your holy name. Amen.

  77. Robert Moore says:

I just watched the video on Godvine and posted on my facebook page. It was exactly what I needed to see at this moment. I am preparing for a big test on Friday and I have been driving myself crazy. Nick’s video helped me remember what it truly important. I then went to this web page and notices the quote from proverbs. Again the words that I needed to read! God works in such crazy ways. Alyssa and Austin I raise you up in my prayers and know that Nick is smiling down on you both.

May God keep you both safe.

  78. Kristina says:

The faith, strength, and courage of your family is truly inspiring. My deepest condolences to you all. Even though losing Nick is difficult, I firmly believe that God has taken him to a place where he knows no pain, no suffering, and no limitations.
    God Bless!

  79. Joey Estrada says:

I just saw the video Nick made and read the blog. I am truly inspired by Nick and want you to know that our family will always be praying for yours. Austyn will grow up to know that her father loved her very much and that he is always with her. Thank you very much for the message that you portrayed, I think we need a lot more of that today in this world. Stay strong and keep raising that gorgeous little girl in the presence of the Lord. God Bless and much love.

May his memory be eternal. Panagia Mazisou.

  81. Erin says:

Your courage and trust in the Lord is so incredibly inspiring to me. My heart has been touched & softened through the reading of what has taken place in your lives, and all that you have been through. What touches me the most is your attitude and perspective through this process. You have just survived one of my worst fears & I am sure that you are such a strong woman in Christ. I can only hope that should I ever experience anything similar that I would handle it with as much beauty and grace as you have. May God bless you, keep you, and shine His face upon you- may He continue to give you such an unfathomable peace.

  82. Peter Frix says:

    Hey Alyssa,

GOD bless you and TEAM Magnotti – for sharing these intimate peaks into your family’s life. What a marvelous exchange to share GOD’s love and presence to all our lives!

Above all, was Nick’s verbal statement of a strengthening relationship with GOD. I LOVE THAT!

My sense is relationship has a physical component, almost a fabric that is woven through our intentions, sharing on behalf of another, to become real. It exists. It is eternal.

Here’s one example that resonates with me, “For the eyes of the LORD go to and fro throughout the whole earth, searching for those whose hearts are completely HIS, that HE might strongly support them. II Ch 16:9”

(My favorite expression of faith and blessing upon CPCS graduates – hooaa!)

My heart and prayers in this time for you, and for Austyn, his eye, and GOD’s hand in your life.

All the best in HIS love,

  83. Kurt Perry says:

Cancer has no rules, the very best (your husband) and very worst fall to it. I lost my dad to cancer when he was 59 in 1992. He was a great man and father

You two make such a great couple and have a beautiful baby as a result. I hope and pray that you and your baby have wonderful lives.

  84. Becca says:

I stumbled upon the video through facebook. I watched it and was amazed. You can truely see God working in and through your family. To hear the word blessed be the center of the video was inspiring. And to see the love in your family that God has given was exulting. Thank you for blessing me.
For the road ahead please know your family is in my prayers. And though I may be a stranger, please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

What a touching video I have just seen that so wonderfully depicts the right attitude of a family put in a great trial. Thank you for your faith and examples. My sincerest condolence for this great loss of an important part of your family.
We are all children of our Heavenly Father, he knows us, he loves us and he must have had things for Nick to do, places for him to go and people for him to see. His strong message of faith in God and love for his family in the face of adversity will change hearts.
    Thank you.

  87. HAA says:

My dearest Alyssa, though i do not know you personally your story has touched me. It has inflicted something in me that is beyond words could ever explain. There is nothing that I wish for you and your beautiful daughter but a bright future. Nick will always be watching over you. Magnotti family,

I saw your video on Yahoo and simply wanted to say that as a cancer survivor, Nick’s words beautifully captured the heartfelt love and joy of being with our beloved children and family as long as possible. Nick’s emotional honesty and faith in the Lord comes shining through. Alyssa (which is my daughter’s name as well) please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your husband and friend. Your husband has helped me to maintain perspective in a world that drives us to overlook the love before us. Thank you for sharing your lives. You and your family will be in my prayers. How fortunate we are to work in the vineyard of the Lord.

yea, though i walk through the valley of the shadow of evil. i shall fear no death. for thou art with me…………………….

  102. Monet M says:

I am truly inspired through your story of faith, hope, and encouragement during the battle of cancer. You have a beautiful family and I will pray for you always. I have had people close to me battle cancer and I understand the pain but my faith in God has brought me to a place of peace. Ever since my grandfather was diagnosed and lost his battle, I have found this poem to be of great help:

I hope this will help you and your family throughout the journey.
    Peace be with you.

  103. Jaime B. says:

    Dear Mrs. Magnotti,

I just watched the video and it touched my soul. I am the father of an 8 month angel and her name is Isabella. My wife and I have been married 12 years and we were blessed with a little angel. I often ask my beautiful wife what she would tell our daughter in the event something would happen to me. I always get the same genuine answer and that no one loved you so much like your father. I love my daughter more than life itself and I can sincerely understand a father’s love for his princess. I’m not much of a religious man, but I do believe in a maker. I believe that when we lose someone dear and near to our hearts; that person will watch over us for ever. I recently lost my mother at the tender age of 51 and I know in my heart that my mother watches over my baby girl from up above. I’m convinced that your husband will do the same. May you always find the peace you seek in life and may a father’s love watch over you and your family.

I just saw Nick’s video. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and that you have to endure this emotion of grief. I wanted to let you know that the comforter is with you and that I will be praying for you and your daughter.

    God bless you,

  105. James says:

    God bless you all.
Thanks for sharing your story. I am truly moved and thankful that I watched your video. Nick is watching down on us all, and I am sure that he is proud.
    Thank you again.

  106. Julie says:

I just watched your amazing video that Nick left for the world to see his testament to the Lord. What an amazing man whom, I am sure, touched many lives in his far too short life! His little angel of a daughter will always be proud of her daddy no doubt! I am sorry for your loss- he was a remarkable person! There is no doubt a party in Heaven still going on celebrating his arrival though. May God bless you and your little girl as you continue the hard journey here on Earth!

  107. William Lucano says:

    Dear Alyssa,

After seeing Nick’s video, I knew I had to say a prayer. I am so deeply sorry for your loss, Nick is such a special person. I, like many people, often lose sight of what matters; I can be weak, unfaithful and also cynical because of the truly sad and horrible things that go on in the world. However, this kindled the appreciation I have for God’s blessings, such as my family and my health, and life in general. I’m sure you already know, but this story is an inspiration to so many, and Nick is without a doubt looking down from heaven at what a beautiful, loving family he has. Magnotti family, everybody should emulate your strength, gratitude, love and faith, it is extremely powerful. Austin will definitely be so proud of her father, just how good of a man he was, how much he loved his family and how he always felt so blessed. May God bless you always.

  108. Zainab says:

I recently saw Nicks video & I applaud all of you guys for being so strong throughout his battle. I know it hurts to see your loved ones in pain. You guys have inspired me to help others in many ways, and my prayers are with you all. Im sure you daughter will go up to be a beautiful reflection of her father. God bless you all <3

Your story deeply touched my heart. You, your husband and your precious daughter, Austyn are so very blessed to have our Lord at your side then, now and forever. What a courageous and loving husband and Father. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

    God bless always…

  110. Jeff Dunn says:

    Mrs. Magnotti,
Nick’s hope to touch someone’s life with the conviction of his faith has come true – I am someone never to have had the honor of meeting this wonderful man but in the opening seconds of the video when asked to describe how he felt in one word – “Blessed” – it simply shook me. How profoundly beautiful a tribute to you and that adorable little girl. I am Blessed that you have the courage to share such a bittersweet and wonderful message.

  111. Lily says:

God bless you and your family. I am 19 years old and have been struggling trying to figure out how to trust God in certain situations in life, ones that seemed hopeless and where I felt helpless. After watching your video you dedicated to your daughter, and how confident you are in your faith and trust in God I lost it.
You are going through so much in life yet you seem to be able to fully trust Him, I pray that I can one day have the same kind of blind strong trust no matter the situation. Thank you for being an inspiration.

  112. David says:

Wow Alyssa! You are so inspiring. When I think of how I let small things in life bother me such as stress at work etc. I am put to shame that you are so strong considering what you and your cute daughter have been through recently.

All I can say that it is definitely Christ that has given you the strength to be able to stay strong during the loss of your husband. Afterall he is in a better place. Thanks for outting things in persepective.

    God bless!

  113. Deborah says:

Thank you for sharing your love and faith. God bless you and your sweet little girl.

  114. Mike says:

What a gift you have with the family that you have. I know words can’t change how you are feeling but I know from watching the video of Nick, that your faith will pull you through. God bless you and your family and I know Nick is resting in peace.

  115. Ji L. says:

    Dear Alyssa,
I watched Nick’s inspiring video, and it left me truly speechless. My son was born on the 18th of march last year, and I cannot even begin to imagine doing life without my husband around. I realise how blessed I am0 both to have the support I have through my husband, as well as simply being around to watch Sean grow up. Thank you for sharing your story as it has served only to edify and strengthen my walk with God.

I really want to say that I am so in awe of the strength and resolute faith that your husband had, and that there is no doubt that he is now with Jesus in heaven watching over both you and Austyn. Stay strong and continue to lean upon God’s word for sustenance and hope when you don’t feel like you can. God bless you.

“weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning”

    with love from Australia,

  116. Arvind says:

Watched the video. What a blessed and testimonial life!!! GOD bless you and your family. Amen!!

  117. Mel says:

Dear Nick, Alyssa, and baby Austin,
I watched your video today and my heart was really really moved. I’m sitting here in tears in the library. I’m a medical student and I’m studying for my boards right now. It’s a tiring schedule basically studying for 7 am to 11pm with very little time scheduled for any extracurricular activities and fun. Sometimes, it gets rough and I can’t study or understand the material. Despite all the hours I put in, it sometimes doesn’t work and I feel like giving up. You and Nick are my inspiration. I will study today and every day knowing that I can help families just like yours and Lord willing find a cure for this terrible disease.
Your strength is amazing. Truly. Nick will always be in your heart and ours too. I pray the our good Lord give you the blessings, courage, and strength you need to live, love, and continue Nick’s legacy. I pray that Austin grow up to be a very smart, beautiful, God fearing young woman. Blessings to you and your loved ones.
    Keeping Nick in our prayers!
Always remember that God will be with you no matter what. He will give you everything you need, wipe every tear, walk beside you every step, and love you with all his heart.
    Lots and Lots of Love

  118. Marisela says:

Alyssa, Nick’s video moved me to tears. I too lost my Daddy to cancer. What an amazing gift for your daughter to see one day. May God continue to give you strength and peace for you and your little. one. God bless!

  119. Ken in Ohio says:

Very touching video, Nick. God has given you grace in your perspective. May the Father continue to hold you and your family close to his heart, and may he be honored in your faith and trust regardless of the outcome.

May Yahweh bless you and safeguard you.
May Yahweh make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
May Yahweh lift his countenance upon you and give you shalom.

    For his glory alone.

  120. Joe G. says:

    Dear Alyssa & Austyn,

Nothing in life is permanent except for what we have in our hearts. The pain you feel is nothing more than the flaps of a white dove in your heart. The pain disappears once you realize the blessing that nick will always be with you both, a white dove.

May the lord shower you with his comfort and love

    Joe – Ont, Canada.

  121. Caroline says:

  122. Chrissy Freeland says:

Nick, I just watched your amazing and inspirational video to your daughter, Austin. As I was watching, I kept thinking that you are everything that I wish I could be….you are so strong, and brave and full of so much love and life. I can only hope that when my time comes to face a challenge that I will have the courage to face it head on with a fraction of the strength you have. You are truly inspirational and your story and video will stay with me.
You, your wife and daughter are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your story and your love of God. I am taking your message to heart. You have truly made a mark in my life with your words.
Hugs and Love to you three,

  123. David says:

I just came across your story on yahoo. It was very moving and I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Nick seemed to be a strong and caring person and the love you two have will grow in your daughter. God bless you and thank you for sharing your story!

Someday when I go to be with the Lord I am going to look for Nick and give him a high five and thank him for sharing his story of courage and strength. I don’t know how I would handle his situation with my wife and daughters. Nick story reminded me to keep trusting God no matter what!

  124. Hi,

    Nick, Alyssa, & Austyn

You don’t know me but wanted to just say hello and to let you know that I will be praying for you. Nick you’re such a inspiration with all that you and your family are going through. My prayer and hope is that you’ll find peace and know that God is in control. May God continue to bless you and keep you.

  125. Sara says:

    Dear Magnotti’s,

I saw the Nick’s video on yahoo and it was so inspiring to me. Your daughter is so adorable and it is so hard to say good-bye to family. God bless to you all!

  126. Fe says:

    Dear Alyssa,
I just saw your husband’s video on Yahoo!, and I wanted to let you know how much his message and words inspired me. I was in awe at the incredible faith he had. I have lost loved ones to cancer, years ago, and never had the capacity or strength to understand just how much power it takes to stand in the midst of a battle and still say you’re blessed, and that God is good.

Though I may never have the chance to meet you or your husband, do know that his words and his testimony have been heard, and that he’s a hero. He’s given faith to people like me, to turn back and renew their relationship with God, and to know he’ll always be there, no matter what. I hope Nick’s message will be a part of my life forever. Thank you, and may God bless you, and Austin, always.

  127. Sho says:

I too have just seen Nick’s video. He brought me to tears as I sit here in McDonalds watching his video. I may be your average 26 yr old GM Mechanic from Kentucky but I do have your family in my thoughts and prayers. It’s obvious Nick is just the best a person could ever be. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

  128. Ashley says:

    Alyssa & Austyn,
My prayers are with you both. God will never put more on us than we can bare; and while death is the end for us on this physical earth. It is only the beginning of our everlasting life. God blessed you both with Nick and all the memories that he left. The video really touched my heart, as my father is battling the same thing now. I will forever keep you both in my prayers, and like Nick said God will take care of you both; so continue to believe and trust in him.

  129. Jali says:

Hello I saw Nick’s message on Yahoo and it was absolutely touching I cried many times watching this. I recently lost the most important person in my life, not cancer mind you but it was sudden and devastating. But taking it a day at a time is all that we can do. I will keep your family and the other people who posted in my prayers and I ask you to do the same. Thank you and God bless.

  130. Tina N says:

Nick’s video is what made me come to this site. He was at peace knowing that he will not die but be absent from Earth to be present with the Lord. I can not begin to imagine how you must feel but live knowing that you are in the best hands you could be in and that is in the hands of the Lord. This makes me look at my spiritual life and makes be aim to become a true and devoted follower of God! May God’s peace surround you continuously and may his love fill your heart everyday! Its okay to miss Nick’s presence but always remember there will be a day when you all will meet again!

    God bless!

  131. Ryan Adrian says:

Anyone can slay a dragon he told me, but try waking up in the morning and loving the world all over again. That’s what makes a real hero.

Nick, your courage is an inspiration and what a blessing it is to have another angel in heaven. Your beautiful wife is also an inspiration and what a joy it must be to know she will raise your beautiful daughter with all the joy, love, and spiritual guidance you and our savior will help provide. God bless!

  132. Yasmin Wright says:

The strength and unwavering faith shown be your family is an inspiration to us all. I thank you for sharing your memories, trials and tribulations, hope and favor and may the Lord and Nick continue to watch over and protect the Magnotti family especially your young daughter!!!! Be blessed 😉

  133. Daniel says:

  135. amber says:

nick’s video was an inspiration to me because i was that little girl in that video…my dad raised me and then god took him when i was 21 years old due to cancer and i love how nick said even though he couldnt be here in this life to raise his daughter god would be her new father and that is what i keep telling my self even though my dad is gone god is my new father and directing my paths.i am in an abusive sitution and nicks video is helping me by drawing closer to god to trust in him that he will lead me out of this bad situation i am in. i am sorry for your loss but i think god took him to help others.

  136. Mykella Anderson says:

Thank you for sharing your story! It is such an amazing testament to how much you trust and love the Lord in spite of whatever has happened in your lives. Thank you for the transparency and truth and for being such a shining light of grace & love. I pray that each day brings you plenty of laughter, love and comfort. God Bless You, Austyn, and Nick!

  137. Joseph Loray says:

I stumbled across a video made by you guys on a day I was feeling sorry for myself for something of a much smaller magnitude. Lets just say that Nick and Alyssa helped me to put things into perspective. Nicks’ genuine devotion to your family and Christ is a true inspiration. God Bless you and keep you Alyssa and your daughter.

  138. Anthony says:

Your family’s story was one of the most beautiful, heart-wrenching, and amazing things I’ve seen. With a baby girl of my own, I leave my house every single day pray for her protection, and the chance to see her when I get home. I don’t know what I would do without her, but I wake every day to protect my country with the Navy so that she can live another day, another week, another year.

Our children are our lives, and we can never forget that.

Nick was and still is a great influence and his words she be heard by all.

  139. Casey says:

I just finished watching your video and it has touched my heart. I lost my fourth child in December and I struggled with anger toward God–something I have never felt before. I sought counseling and she encouraged me to lay my burdens down before God and to rest in Him knowing that He loves me. What I’ve been trying so hard to do (and failing at) you and Nick did. Your story shows how much peace and He truly can give if we rely on Him. Thank you for your beautiful story of perseverance, love, hope, joy and courage. Nick’s video has inspired me to truly let go and let God. I pray for peace for your heart today and that God is covering you in His love.

  140. Janet says:

Thank you for sharing your lives in the midst of all that the Lord allowed you to go through. How very giving and loving of all of you to be so transparent so that others would reach out to Jesus. True disciples of Christ. God is faithful and will hold you close! None the less Alyssa, I am so sorry for your hurting heart. Isn’t it just so hard to figure out why God does certain things…yet we know He has a purpose for everything. May you continue to feel God’s presence, His peace, His comfort and His love. May your and Nick’s families both feel that same comfort as well as it is such a difficult time.
I want to get in the line to hug your entire family when we all get to heaven.

  141. Mollie says:

I just watched your video on Yahoo.
I cried at my desk thinking of how brave Nick was and how beautiful his family is.
My sister in law was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and is fighting for her life everyday. She fights to see her 2 year old daughter everyday.
This is such a inspiring story and I pray for his wife and their daughter.
When my mom died she told me there is good out of all the bad. It took me a while to find the good but I found it. And now My daughter and I have the best angel in heaven.

    With love and prayer

  142. steve says:

I too just watched Nick’s video on Yahoo…what a testament AND an inspiration. Life is but a fleeting moment…but god’s love is eternal! My mother is also fighting stage IV cancer, but we are not letting it define us! Each word we speak, each smile we make, each hand we touch…they multiply exponentially…Nick’s and your message will continue to move through all those who experience it! For that, I am thankful!

  143. Johnalee says:

My heart and prayers go out to the family of Nick. I watched the video and was moved to tears. It hit me so hard, more than a reaction I have had to some distant family members and was unexpected to be touched so greatly. I think perhaps Nick was an angel on earth. What an amazing person, I could only hope that I have touched people like he did. God bless his beautiful wife and daughter. It is so amazing to see such a gracious man when he suffered so greatly. You are too blessed to have had the precious years you had with a man that I had never met and was moved like I’ve never been moved before. He gives me hope for this life.

  144. Grace says:

I found your blog after watching Nick’s video. What an encouragement. What a joy to see his love for the Lord and his peace in knowing that he would go be with Him in heaven. That his one desire was that people would come to faith in Jesus.

My heart aches for you and your daughter. May God bless you in these coming days with his peace, his comfort, his love, his joy. I am so sorry for your loss but so thankful that you know exactly where Nick is…in the presence of our Savior!

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.”
    2 Corinthians 1:3-5

  145. st says:

    Hello from Greece,

I would like to leave a message for your wonderful daughter.

All I wish to you little angel, is to be as brave and courageous as your parents are. Trying to make the world better with every action you make, as they do.

Your father’s spirit lives on, inspiring all of us.

  146. AJ says:

Came across the video by Nick the other day, and I can’t even begin to describe the array of emotions it made me feel. I was crying tears of sadness and joy while my heart bled in pain…the days go by yet my heart’s still constantly fluttering. One thing it did without doubt is fill me with inspiration. After seeing the video I became Nick’s stalker, I wanted more! I found the blog and facebook, and the more I read, the more I wept. Even as I write now the tears won’t stop. I no longer know if I’m crying for Nick or myself. Probably both. We all go on ups and downs with our connection to God, and for the past year I was on a down. I read the posts and felt my insides shattering, like a dam breaking down and the water gushing forth; the yearning of wanting to be close to God again hit me like a tidal wave. I sat crying over the time I’ve wasted, the time I was not paying heed to what was important, while Nick was there living life to the max.

Whenever I’m about to do something absolutely and utterly useless Nick haunts me (my fault for stalking!). I go into competition mode and think, no way am I letting him get away with all the good stuff! I’m going after it too! God is so kind to have given me some more time to be a servant who can strive to do what He loves.

Being a practising Muslim I’ve always been taught to see hardships as God’s love for us, to bring out the best in us, because it’s those things that make us grow closer to God, and closer to each other. For us to see difficulties we face in life as blessings takes energy, takes will. But once we reach it there’s a beautiful sweetness we can begin to taste in all that pain, suffering and grief. A feeling of elation that can’t be experienced otherwise.

I’ll leave with some words to sooth the heart, words that never cease to put life back into perspective:

‘Verily in the remembrance of God do hearts find rest.’ [Quran 13:28]

‘And whosoever puts his trust in God, then He will suffice him’ [Quran 65:3]

‘And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to those who are patient. Those who, when afflicted with calamity, say: “Truly! To God we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.” They are those on whom are the blessings from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided-ones.’ [Quran 2:155-157]

‘Be mindful of God, you will find Him in front of you. Recognise and acknowledge God in prosperity, and He will remember you in adversity. Know that what has missed you was not going to befall you, and that which has befallen you was never going to miss you. And know that victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and ease with hardship.’ [Prophet Muhammed, peace be upon him]

Thank you Alyssa for sharing this blog with us, you guys have ignited a fire in me and I hope it never fades.

You are forever in my prayers. May God guide you throughout life upon a path of light. Amen

  147. Amy Rushing says:

Just watched Nick’s video on Yahoo and immediately came to your page. As I sit here at work with tears in my eyes I am amazed at what a strong man Nick was throughout his ordeal. What an amazing video and legacy that he has left for his daughter. His message, as well as they family’s, is one that has touched me to my soul. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Philippians 4:6-7: Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all that he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

  148. Charles Gillaspy says:

    Hi Alyssa & Family,

I watched the video today after I stumbled across it on Yahoo, and it really moved me. I live in Mill Creek, but had not heard about your story. I’m so very sorry for your loss…as a passing observer, and someone who never knew Nick, I found myself wishing that I had gotten to meet and know him. I really wish you guys all the best in your future, and wanted to say that if there’s ever anything I can do…just let me know. You guys will be in my thoughts & prayers.

    Take Care,

  149. Laurie says:

    Dear Alyssa & Austyn,
Thank you for sharing your journey with the world, I am so very sorry that Nick had to die so young. Your family is an inspiration to us. I know Nick is watching over your family and smiling at all the love you are receiving from complete strangers. I am proud to share your story, you both really made me think about how important it is to have faith and show others love, don’t wait until its to late.

God Bless you and your family, Laurie

  150. Christine says:

You and Nick are such an AMAZING inspiration. I’m certain you have heard time and time again from the people whose lives you two have touched. I too, balled my eyes out at the love, the story, but most importantly, the faith shown in the video and your blogs. This a true testament of the faith that we as Christians hold so dearly to our hearts. It’s a true test of trusting, believing and always knowing that God has your back. If there were ever a doubt of God’s existence, you two removed it all. The light truly shines through you and Nick – I am inspired. I am in awe. And I am humbled by your journey. I pray that God continues to nurture you, wrap His arms around you and guide you through this earthly life. I find comfort in knowing that your faith will see you through. May God continue to bless you and your lovely daughter :) ~Christine

  151. Tom Bellas says:

    Alyssa and Austyn;
I just came across your story by chance (if there is such a thing). My heartfelt sympathy on Nick’s passing. I was truly inspired and moved watching the video on how at peace Nick was, and how blessed he was with the two women in his life. His work on earth will live on in Austyn’s smiles, and she will miraculously develop some of Nick’s habits, and then you will know that he is still with both of you. I feel terrible that Nick had to endure this awful disease, but his faith, passion, and love of you both is an amazing legacy that affects everyone that watches the video. God bless you all and may you feel the warming comfort of everyone watching your story.

  152. Alyssa says:

    Hello, Mrs. Alyssa!
I came across Nick’s video on Yahoo and just wanted to let you know that I am SO touched by you and your husband’s immense strength throughout the battle. I send my deepest condolences for your loss but want you to know that although he’s no longer here now, Nick can now watch over you and your precious daughter and talk to God for you two. You two have demonstrated a love so unique and a faith so powerful, I’ve been brought to tears. I hope for the best for you and Austin and you all will be in my prayers. Thank you, so much, for sharing your story and inspiring us all!

  153. Carolyn says:

Alyssa, my heart breaks for the loss you and Austyn have had to endure. My 29 yr old son Alex died in October, 2013 of adrenocorticocarcinoma which is very similar to what Nick had. Rare, aggressive and hard to treat. As much as I miss him, and you miss Nick, looking through photos of him healthy really helped me to understand that he is so much better off now. I know Nick is as well. Every day we had together after the diagnosis was a bonus day, very much grateful for them all.
My love and hugs to you and your family, Carolyn

  154. Jesseca says:

I just watched Nick’s video on Yahoo and am so inspired and in awe of both of you. I have never written to a “stranger”- especially online but was so incredibly moved to tears watching a truly God-inspired spirit come through Nick’s words. I will be praying for you and your daughter daily and ask God to allow you to still feel that same spirit surrounding you and bring you comfort. Thank you for being brave enough to share this with the world.

    God bless,

  155. Silvia says:

Just saw your husbands video. It brought to life what they teach us in church but we never understand until we’re in the midst of it – “To praise Him in the storm”. His faith will live on as a testimony to others. In tears I’m inspired and will say a prayer for you and your beautiful daughter.

  156. Peter JACKSON says:

I was really impressed with Nick’s video message.

A beautiful tribute to his daughter and wife. Just shows that material things are not that important.

When life is put into context we see that people (family, friends, co-workers, acquaintances) are what matter.

Also feeling part of an international community also helps people to endure loneliness in isolated parts of the world.

Nick’s message watched by myself in the far North of Europe had a powerful resonance.

  157. Magnotti family,
Just saw Nick’s amazing movie. So sorry to hear of your loss but, know heaven is a little brighter with him in it. May the peace that passes all understanding be with you always and Nick’s legacy inspiration continue to inspire.

    God Bless,
    Bobbie Ingram

  158. Therese Church says:

I just saw the emotive video tonight and was compelled to look for the site. And when I did I was crestfallen to read that Nick had already passed away.

Am sending sincerest condolences and prayers to all of his family. He was indeed a rare treasure. A brave, sincere, loving, dutiful man who fought with grace and conviction and through his religious beliefs.

I am relieved he is now free from pain in the loving home of God, where he looks down upon his young family as they forge on in life without him physically. But with him spiritually.

Godspeed to his dear wife and daughter and family. May Nick’s legacy continue thru them all.

  159. David says:

God bless your family! Prayers for you. Nick’s video to his daughter moved me deeply.

I know that Jesus will keep you and reunite you when He comes.

Love in the Darling Savior -dave

  160. Victoria Christian says:

Alyssa, I am so sorry that you lost your husband I can see form the video that went viral that he was an amazing god loving man…I am so happy that you have a beautiful piece of you both to wake up to each morning. I pray that god keeps blessing you and Nick’s beautiful daughter….because of your story I will hold my children and husband so much closer tonight…keep on going dear..Victoria Christian of Minneapolis, MN

  161. Linda says:

Alyssa, I watched the video of Nick’s message to your daughter and to the world and I am humbled and so pleased to hear his words. I have often wondered if God would give me strength if I had to endure a final illness, like Nick’s. I am reassured through your kind sharing of his message that God is indeed faithful, that He does walk with us even to the end of this world and into the next one. May Jesus’ name be praised! I won’t forget your husband’s words and I will pray for you and your daughter.
    In Him,

  162. Linda says:

Truly, God, protectively and lovingly, has his arms wrapped around
You and your family. May God Bless.

  163. Dean says:

    Nick and family,

I just watched your video on Yahoo, and I was very moved by Nick’s courage. I came to the site and was very sad to see that Nick passed away a month ago. Very tragic and sad. Although not religious, I do believe in God and I have a good relationship with him. I believe myself to have been saved from death several times because God had bigger plans for me. One of those is my 6 year old daughter, Keira. She turns 7 on March 4th and she is absolutely the love of my life. I could not imagine leaving her side forever. That is why I would like to give a personal thank you to the Magnotti family for raising such a good man. Many people tend to find a higher power when they’re at the edge of disaster, but Nick had that belief before and his diagnosis did not shake it, but made it stronger. For a moment I had taken for granted the life I have, until I watched Nick’s farewell video. This life should not be taken for granted. We all have a limited time on this earth, and should use it to the best of our ability. I intend to do exactly that from here on out. God bless you all. Much love from VT.

  164. Danielle says:

    To all of you~

Be well be blessed and may God wrap his arms around you and fill you with peace and comfort.

I came across a video of Nick & Alyssa and I could not pull myself away. The Lord put on my heart to leave you a note.

It all boils down to the fact that God is love and I could see the love of God shine through Nick. As a stranger watching a video, that just popped up on my screen, I could feel God radiate out and the aura of pure love surrounding him and his young family.

God is love and Nick was surrounded by it.

You are all in my prayers at this time~

I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss! Nick’s story is one of much bravery and acceptance that God indeed has a plan for everyone, some of which we may not understand, but we accept the path we must walk on. I pray for his daughter, wife and other family and friends to have strength as he did. I lost my father in 2008 and about 8 months ago learned my father in law has stage 4 inoperable stomach cancer. I can’t understand why things happen to good people but I must accept God has a plan for my father in law as well. To you and to all who go through cancer or other terrible illnesses, may God bless you all and thank you for sharing your story with the rest of the world.

  166. Brittany Bailey Mashburn says:

I am so sorry for your loss! I cannot imagine the tought times that have happened, are happening and will happen, but I will pray that God’s grace will guide you and your precious daughter. It is amazing how God laid the peace the surpasses all understand on your husband and allowed him to enjoy what truly matters in this world, showing others to Christ and loving his family until he he could no more.
    Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Prayers for you and your daughter!
    God is with you always!

    • Mary S. says:

I am so inspired by your video. Know that you are doing unbelievably good things that are sure to positively affect people in more ways than you can imagine. God bless you and your family and thank you for sharing your message with the public. I will think of you and your lovely family in my prayers.

  167. John Mark says:

    Alyssa (and family),

I saw Nick’s video when a friend (Joel Neeb) shared it on Facebook. My pastor and friend, Levi Lusko, had his 5-year-old daughter Lenya taken to heaven just five days before Christmas of 2012, and after going through that trial with them, my heart aches for you and I promise to keep you in my prayers. May God bless you for using this to spread His Good News.

  168. Lizzy says:

Nick’s story brings tears to my eyes. Although I am only 16, I have had a lot of friends and close family members suffer through cancer. My best friend in 4th grade found out she had brain cancer and then my aunt three years ago with breast cancer. I am truly sorry for your loss and I want you to know that Nick will live in your heart forever. Make sure to tell your daughter how brave Nick was and that everyone wishes for the best through your life. His video was truly inspiring and I will live through my life remember all those that passed away from cancer. Keep doing what you are doing through Team Magnotti and you are correct, we can move mountains

  169. Troy says:

Wow! Your husband had a love for God that I could feel while he was sharing it. It made the way he looked at his daughter that much more beautiful. What an incredible example of faith, my flesh still wants to question why God? A young couple with a beautiful little girl, why Nick? Imagine a world filled with men like Nick that have a love of God over all things. This world would be so different and better. Maybe that is why Nick, because of his faith the impact would be more felt. I hope this has the same effect on others as it had on me. Not just for a moment but for our life here on earth. To have a passion for God that makes the love of others that much more. I’m sorry for the loss of a husband and father but I’m thankful for the story. It has given me a desire to pursue God like never before. Thank you Nick!

  170. Katherine Miller says:

    Dear Alyssa, & Austin,

My heart weeps for you, You lost an honorable man who deeply loved his family. What was evident in Nick, was his extraordinary strength which came from adversity, through faith Nick prevailed, and he gave his daughter a legacy for her to grow with. I know what it is like to lose a loved one from Cancer, so I understand clearly your devastating loss. My heart goes out to you, as you, and Austin go forward, you have a foundation built on your memories to carry you beyond these sad, sad days.

May God Bless you, and Keep You,

  171. Michael Patrick says:

Alyssa and Austin, I didn’t know Nick, but after watching his beautiful video gift to you, he will always be remembered in this stranger’s heart for his love and blessed life. God bless you both during this difficult time. I’d say that I’m saddened for your loss, but having Nick in your lives was definitely a huge gain! He has inspired me to be a kinder person. Michael

  172. Will Kim says:

As a father of a young one, Nicks video brought tears to my eyes…..but so did the love he was fortunate enough to share with his beautiful daughter and wife. Im sure his spirit will guide Austyn through life and he will be with her always.
    Bless you

  175. Tiffany says:

I watched Nick’s video this morning, and could not contain my tears. I cried due to the sadness he will not be able to physically be there for you or Austin, happiness that you and her will have this video as well as others to remember him by, and because Nick has given me hope within the few minutes of his video for my family’s future.

So glad that you and Austin were able to have such an inspirational, caring, and loving person in your lives. Even if it was cut short, I believe he will still be there with you every day–watching your little girl grow, and due amazing things.

Thank you…for sharing this heartfelt video.

  176. Beth says:

I saw Nick’s video on Yahoo while just clicking around. I just had to come to the website to learn more about his journey. When I read some of your blogs I saw that your adorable Austyn was born the same day as my son Sam. There are probably no words a stranger could write that could make another wife and mother feel better at this challenging time, but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and hope that there’s peace in knowing Nick is finally cancer-free. God bless.

  177. Alejandra says:

    Dear Magnotti’s!
I’m from Argentina and just finished to watch your video.

My prayers and a piece of my heart are with you.

  178. Connie says:

OMG! I really hope that you and your family are good, your husband was a person that inpired to much people, the video is so amazing, i cried with it… So much kisses to austin! Hugs and kisses from Colombia

  179. Francisco says:

I am from Bogota, Colombia and I want you to know that Nick’s message, his and your endurance and family love is now known in my country as well. Your husband’s videos and love messages to his children and to you were published in the front page of the main newspaper in Colombia. That is how I found about Nick’s struggle and fight for life.
I am sorry for finding this so late, after Nick’s passing but I want you to know that his (yours as well) message and love for each other and your children has echoed beyond any expectations and definitely has touched my heart and has changed my vision on life.
Best to you and the children. Blessings to you all.

  180. Penelope Jordan says:

Let me start off by saying I am so very sorry for your loss. I saw Nick’s story on Godvine, and watched it in part on youtube. I lost my sister to cancer last year. While she was not a spouse, she was my partner in crime and I expected to grow old with her. I know my sister Jannine and Nick are with the Heavenly father, healthy, happy, and no longer in pain. I want to tell you that your post titled We Won, touched my heart. I never thought of my sisters death in that way, but your words have inspired me and I thank you for taking some of that pain away. My God comfort you and keep you in his arms. You will be in my prayers.

  181. Hjalmar says:

I want you to know that our Lord Jesus Christ is a Sobereign God! He loves your family very much. Nick was an angel put on this Earth to fullfill our Lord’s perfect will and now I am sure he is with Him. God bless you all for being so brave! His testimony will help sooo many. I am crying right now, but these are tears of joy. Your husband was an amazing man. I know our Lord will always be with you and Austyn. She will know that her daddy LOVED her. God bless!

  182. Luis Diaz says:

  188. sebastian alibaud says:

    estimados Alyssa y Nick,

  189. Austin Reed says:

I just wanted to say that what your family has done by posting this video is doing something good in this world. Not many people will even say the name Jesus Christ in privately let alone publicly. And by releasing this clip to those in need…it’s very encouraging. Many times in school I was made fun of for my faith in Christ and for waiting to give away my virginity to my future wife. Even in a small town where I come from the difficulties of this life are everpressing. Many times I just wanted to give up and be like everyone else…or even take my own life to stop the constant anxieties. But God saw better things for me: He saw life and joy. In the year 2009 I was saved by the Word of the Lord and my life has changed ever since. He brought me out of many threatening and evil situations, placed me into my church, and he brought me the gift I had wanted for so long: Michelle, my bestfriend. We fell in love and have been together since October 16, 2011. We know that our love was God-given and rare; I thank Him so much for it! But none of it would have been if it weren’t for men like Nick. For me, my father was my Nick. When I look into their eyes I feel the same warmth of love, truth and comfort. I can see the radience of Jesus in them. I pray that others may see the same in me, that I may be light to this world. Cancer isn’t the biggest enemy here; it’s satan. Nick overcame death through the power of Christ and he is celebrating in Heaven right now, happier than he has been. Keep shining your light for others to see the way and take heart because you may just save a life through the strength of Jesus Christ. Just as others similar to Nick had done for me.

    Thank You.

  190. Jose Ignacio Preciado says:

La muerte no es el final:

    Cuando la pena nos alcanza
    del compañero perdido,
    cuando el adiós dolorido
busca en la fe su esperanza.
    En tus palabras confiamos
    con la certeza que Tú
ya le has devuelto a la vida,
ya le has llevado a la luz.
Ya le has devuelto a la vida,
ya le has llevado a la luz

Que Dios os bendiga familia Magnotti.

  192. de la Monneraye Marie says:

I watched your video and was really touched by your story, it is admirable to be able to speak in front of a camera and speak so feely and thruly about this illness. It was a pleasure talking with you about our similar experiences. I’m glad that we our telling our stories. One thing that struck me, was when you said that all Nick wanted was for at least one person to by positively effected by your journey. It seems as though that was achieved by such a large degree. I look forward to reading the rest of your and Austin’s story.

  205. Amritanshu says:

    Hey Alyssa
Greetings, love and peace all the way from India.

    Its 4.30 am here.

I was tossing and turning on my bed here unable to sleep peacefully. I switched my laptop on and logged into facebook and i saw a link to the video you made with your lovely and beautiful husband Nick.

I was in tears as the video ended. I wasnt able to catch the words as clearly as i would have liked too given that i was still sleepy but then again i didnt need too as i felt that your husband , you and Austin were speaking to me by pure energy.

Dear Alyssa, half an hour has elapsed since i saw that video. I feel so peaceful. Whatever subconscious there was that was perturbing me is now at peace and in harmony with my soul.

Honesty and Faith are not only healing but also in commute to all receiving hearts. Your honesty and faith and that of Nick and Austin and that beautiful smile that the three of you possess, that is so healing and so peaceful.

Thankyou for sharing the gifts you have. I will pray for you and Austin. If you and Austin ever did decide to see India, please do let me have the honor of showing you some of this beautiful and spiritual country.

There is a very beautiful book that i would recommend you to read. It captures the spiritual essence of India in a way that you would understand best. Its called the Autobiography of the Yogi by Sri Paramahansa Yogananda. I am attaching the amazon.com link for this wonderful book that i am sure you will find to be very amazing.

You and I may have never met. However we are cosmic friends and surely we knew each other as friends in another life and time. In that spirit of divine friendship i wish you and baby Austin the very best of the very best. Even if we are not able to meet in person, i thankgod for allowing me to send these words to you.

Once again, lots of love, peace, joy, happiness, kindness, health, knowledge, awakening and power to the Magnotti girls Alyssa and Austin and to the beautiful Magnotti family of Nick.
